The Oxford Supplementary Skills series covers Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing at four levels - elementary, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced. The materials are intended for adult learners, and are task-based and interactive with an emphasis on fluency. They can be used as a supplement to a course book or as modular course material.
Speaking for upper-intermediate students This book aims primarily to improve the oral fluency of the upper-intermediate learner of English. Specific attention is given to the use of intonation in conveying what the speaker has to say and in maintaining the listener's interest. Linguistic accuracy is also dealt with in the 'Reflection' tasks. There is an Introduction to the teacher and answers where appropriate. There is an accompanying cassette.
