Nancy Willard is the author of novels and books of poetry for adults as well as the author of tHe Newbery Medal—winning A Visit to William Blake's Inn: Poems for Innocent and Experienced Travelers, illustrated by Alice and Martin Provensen. Her many other books for young readers include Cracked Corn and Snow Ice Cream: A Family Almanac, illustrated by Jane Dyer, and The Magic Cornfield, which she illustrated herself with wildly inventive photographs. She teaches at Vassar College and lives in Poughkeepsie, New York.
