SIETAR Európa Congress 1998 Proceedings HERITAGE and PROGRESS SIETAR (The International Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research), founded in 1974, is an interdisciplinary Professional association whose purpose is to promote understanding and co-operation among people of diverse cultures, races and ethnic groups. SIETAR Európa was founded in 1991 and is a self-supporting partner in the global SIETAR network; SIETAR Európa currently has a membership of about 600 spread throughout Europe. Since its foundation, SIETAR Európa has held annual congresses in The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Finland, The Czech Republic, Francé and the United Kingdom. Over 300 participants from 26 countries attended the 8th SIETAR Európa Congress which was held from 1-4 April 1998 atthe University of Bath. it was organised, on behalfof SIETAR Európa, by Philip O'Connor (Congress Chair), Adrián Pilbeam and Donal Lynch, of LTS Training & Consulting in Bath.
