Philip Rawson is currently Keeper of the Gulbenkian Museum of Oriental Art and Archaeology in the University of Durham. Formerly he was Kee^ er of the Department of Eastern Art in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and ./ Lecturer on Oriental Art at the University of London. In 1963 he organized 'an exhibition of Indian art, music and dancing for the Edinburgh Festival, and in 1971 the important exhibition of Tantra Art at the Hayward Gallery, London. He has published several books on eastern art including The Art lot South-East Asia (1963) in this series, Tantra (1973), Tao (with Laszio Legeza - 1973), and Erotic Art of India (1977), as well asjcontributing articles to many learned journals.
