MANY books have been written and many illustrated articles published to portray the immense half-continent of Canada: in the majority the pictorial stress has been upon the vast natural resources of the country and their development in the economic life of the people. But little has been published in book form, and in colour, to portray the other side of the country-the natural beauty that is found in such diverse forms across a land which is so wide in its rangé that nearly every visitor, if he travelled across it, would find in it somé echo of his own country, whether highland or lowland, maritime or continental.
