Ekpo Eyo holds a Master's degree in Social Anthropology and a Ph. I) in Archeology from the University oHbadan. He was the first winner of the Gordon Childe Memorial Prize in Archeology at the University olfLondon.
He is the Directorof the Nigerian Federal Department of Antiquities and a former \'ice-Presidencof the International Council of Museums and current Vice-President of the Common wealth Association ofMuseums. Since 1966 he has been an Associate Lecturer in African Studies at the University ofLagos.

Irein Wangboje was born at Arbiosi in the Mid-Western State, holds a Master's degree in Fine Art and a doctorate in Art Education from the New York University. He has served as an artist with the Federal Ministry oflrjformation, and as design and art Supervisor with n.b.c. Television in Lagos. He was a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Ife before becoming a Sefli^- Lectgretand the Professor ofFine Art at Ahmadu iMIb University.
