The Museum. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most important museums in the world. The core of its outstanding collection includes works from the 13"' to the 18"' century, reflecting in particular one of the highest moments of the entire history of art, the Renaissance.
Among the main artists represented are Giotto, Piero deUa Francesca, Paolo Uccello, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Pontor-mo, Titian and Caravaggio.
The Series. The volumes pubhshed in the Firenze Musei series are the official guides for the Florence museums. They have been edited in cooperation between the publisher, the Fine Arts and Historic Works Commission and the directors of the museums.
