Desperate to get off the dole during the grinding recession of 1980s Ireland, trCoineen^discovered a unique approach that allowed him to begin his first business in the middle, of a recession - without any cash whatsoever.
Since theniie has refined his formula into a distinct business philosophy, applying it over and ovfer again to more than a dozen separate enterprises. Now an established financier, he presides over his own investment management company and venture capital firm, Kilcullen Kapital Partners.
O'Coineen develops the theme|h'at entrepreneurship is not a science, but an individual art form as Unique all the human spirit, thereby making it accessible to people of all backgrounds. He gives a personal and fascinating insight into starting business, entrepreneurship in large organisations, and developing opportunities in the former communist countries of eastern Europe.
He also shares his adventures and details the basics of entrepreneurship, what you need to know in Girder to make it on your own, and what pitfa|ls to avoid.
Witty, entertaining and at times surprisingly blunt, this book is a must-read for any would-be entrepreneur who wants advice from a person who has been there.
Enda O'Coineen was born jin Galway, Ireland. He took a business degree in NUI Galway before devoting the rest of his life to sailing and entrepreneurship. An adventurer and philanthropist, he has crossed the Atlantic single-handedly several times (once in a 16ft dinghy) and has raced around the world (once on his own). O'Coineen has many involvements in charitable activities such as being a director of GAISCE and founding chairman of Ocean Youth Trust Ireland. As executive chairman of Kilcullen Kapital Partners, O'Coineen runs the Mozart Venture Capital and property funds together with an asset management business. He has an involvement in a group of over a dozen companies with a broad range of activities in recruitment, telecommunications, mortgages, banking, credit referencing and related service areas. Author of three other books, he divides his time between his family, Dublin, Prague and the oceans.
