Themes for Listening and Speaking Themes for Listening and Speaking contains a wide range of lively material for advanced listening and speaking practice. It is particularly suitable as preparation for the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English examination, Papers 4 and 5, and can be used in conjunction with an exam course book. It can also be used on its own as a listening and speaking course for non-exam students. The book is accompanied by a cassette and each unit is based on an authentic recording. The material in each unit falls into three sections. The Listening section contains imaginative comprehension exercises and is followed by Practice, in which the student manipulates the structures and functions just heard. Finally, there is a Speaking section which provides a variety of communicative activities based around the unit's theme.
