Austin Warren was born in Waitham, Massachusetts, and took his Ph.D. at Princeton. He is Professor of English at the University of Michigan, and has taught at the University of Kentucky, the University of Minnesota, Boston University, the University of Iowa, the University of Wisconsin, and New York University. He is the author of a number of literary studies.
