for his too clean and over-precise theories;
likewise, the academic will complain of the

make up the politician's life. At the same time
both are expected to provide formulae for a
better future.
Professor Blonde! shows that such arguments
are otiose. If we are to think sensibly about
politics, he says, we must study theory
(Aristotle etc.), institutions (parliament etc.)
and everyday political behaviour. Only if we
combine all aspects of political life will our
thinking about politics have any relevance for
the future.
