Tibor Barna, PhD
Tibor Barna, graduated as a physical education teacher in 1980 and as a coach with a specialization in wrestling in 1982 from the Hungarian University of Physical Education (TF), where he defended his university doctoral thesis summa cum laude ('Analysing the performance of international elite free-style wrestlers'), and his «PhD thesis ('Effectiveness of actions in wrestling') in 2002.
Dr. Barna has vast experience in teaching, coaching and researching. His coaching has helped several Hungarian and international wrestlers win medals at European and World Championships. He was the head coach of the British Olympic Wrestling Team at the Seoul Games in 1988, and helped the Hungarian Wrestling Team, as a scientific consultant, in its preparation for the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
Dr. Barna has gained international recognition for his outstanding coaching and tutoring worl(, receiving praise from groups such as Slippery Rock University (Pennsylvania, USA)...

Since 2004, Dr. Barna has served as the head of the Combat Sports Department, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (TF), Semmelweis University Budapest, Hungary*. He has 29 publications (12 in foreign languages) to his name, including two books, all focusing on the strategy and tactics of wrestling.
In this book, the first of its kind to be published, he passes on his tactical wrestling knowledge and decades-long experience to readers.
