This well-known book, now completely revised and largely rewritten., has an editor for the first time. Mrs. Wale has received her training and experience in post-war physiotherapy. This is shown in the change from emphasis on therapeutic massage to the discussion of more electrical treatments, for these are now included in the syllabus of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. Perhaps one of the most valuable aspects of the book is the correlation of relevant anatomy or physiology with pathology and treatments, a factor all too often overlooked by the student. Two new chapters have been added and a number of new illustrations and diagrams. It is hoped that the present generation of students who use this textbook will find it as helpful as have so many students in the past.
