John Chang McCurdy
John Chang McCurdy has been acknowledged as one of the world's leading fine arts photographers. His works have been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in the USA and Europe, including the San Francisco Museum of Modem Art, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Upplands Museum in Sweden. John Chang McCurdy has been selected as one of the top eight modem masters of fine art photography and his portfolio has been featured in the book Landscape Photography, published by Watson-Guptill Publications, with text by Gene Thornton of the New York Times. He studied at Califomia State University, San Francisco, where he received his B.A. from the Department of Design and Industry specialising in photography. He then studied Scandinavian Art History at Uppsala University. His book of photographs, Of All Things Most Yielding, was published in 1974 by McGraw-Hill and in 1975 in paperback by Ballantine Books. The book Iceland was produced in collaboration with Nobel prize-winning author Halldor Laxness and Magnus Magnusson, Rector of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. His book of dance. Meditation in Movement, was published by Seoul Intemational Publishing House. In Korea Fantasia, a book on the four seasons, he collaborated with the highly acclaimed American novelist, Richard E. Kim. John Chang McCurdy's portfolio publications in Time-Life Books are: The Ancient Adirondacks, The Southern Appalachians and Urban Wilds. In addition, his works have appeared in: Life, Vogue, New York Times, Forbes, Fortune, Wall Street Journal, and other journals.
