People differ a great deal in their views on an ideal holiday: some prefer spending their summer holidays on the banks of rivers or lakes, others are attracted by the mountains in their winter or summer attire, still others want to restore their health at various spa resorts or, being interested in history, they are fond of visits to ancient towns and castles. Despite their varieties these views have one common denominator namely the desire to change the surroundings, to escape - for at least a short while - from the bustle of everyday life and experience pleasant and carefree moments. Czechoslovakia is one of those countries which have all prerequisites for such holidays. Moreover, a visit to this not too large, yet charming and hospitable country boasting numerous variegated attractions can be arranged very easily. Thanks to its location, in the centre of Europe Czechoslovakia is conveniently accessible from all countries of the Continent. International air routes with landings at the Prague and Bratislava Airports connect it with practically the whole world. The versatile and many-sided services of CEDOK, the Travel and Hotel Corporation, are a very effective aid in the arrangement of a trip to Czechoslovakia. Cedok is not only the oldest but also the biggest organization of its kind among the Czechoslovak agencies of the tourist traffic and it maintains permanent business contacts with all important tour operators and travel agencies in the whole world. Interested parties can therefore contact their own travel office and they can always rest assured that the services they require will be arranged through the mediation of Cedok. The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic is a federative state of the Czechs and the Slovaks, two Slavonic nations inhabiting two national republics administratively divided into regions. Seven regions are on the territories of Bohemia and Moravia, while Slovakia is divided into three regions. Prague, the capital of the Federation and of the Czech Socialist Republic, and Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Socialist Republic, have also the statutes of a region. The easternmost part of the Republic is the East-Slovak Region and this prospectus presents Cedok's invitation to its visit. Vissza
