The Weizmann Institute of Science
ranks among the top scientific research institutions in the world. Located in Rehovot, Israel, its 300-acre landscaped campus now comprises a community of 2,400 scientists, engineers and scientists-in-training engaged in more than 1,000 projects across all areas of modern science. Dr. Chaim Weizmann, a noted chemist who later became the first President of the State of Israel, founded the Institute with a vision: He saw how important science would be in reclaiming the desert lands of Israel, in generating industry, achieving economic viability and reaching out to the nations of the world. "The Institute," said Dr. Weizmann, "is the translation of a dream into reality.
