!s a 3-year course for children whoare beginning to learn English at the age of 6-8. It is an activity course which encourages language-learning by means of games, songs, rhymes, and conversations.
The material for the second year consists of: a reading book a workbook a cassette cue cards a teacher's book
In Reading Book 2 illustrated rhymes, songs, and short stories are introduced for the children to listen to and read or talk about. The Workbook follows the pattern of Zig Zag Year /. Drawing, colouring, puzzles, and writingexercises help toreinforce the language which has been orally learnt. In Workbook 2 there is increasing emphasis on the reading and writing skills. The exercises range from copying and answering questions to the free composition of letters to perj-friends. At the same time as practising what they are learning the children also have theopportunity of completing their own workbook in English.
